Let Money Chase You! by Indrazith Shantharaj

Introduction:

“Let Money Chase You!: Smart and Simple Ways to Build Lasting Wealth” is a practical book about money, wealth creation, financial freedom and the mindset required to build long term wealth. The book is not simply tell you to earn more money. Instead, it ask a more important question – what to do with the money you earn?

Many people spend their entire career trying to increase their salary. They work hard, get promotions, increase their income and then slowly increase their expenses to match the new income. This creates a cycle where you keep working for money, but money never really starts working for you.

This book challenges this mindset. It encourages readers to think about assets, Investment income, passive income, multiple income streams, time and leverage.

One of the strongest ideas in the book is that “your mindset is your greatest asset.” That is why the journey toward wealth is not start with a human being having a large bank balance. It starts with changing the way you think about money.

What the book is about

The main Idea behind late money chase you is to help people move from simply earning income to actively building wealth.

The book explains a concept called the Money Matrix, which divides the way people generate money into for quadrates – employee, self employed, business owner, and investor. The diagram on page 7 helps to show how these different quadrants differ in the way time, effort, system, and capital are used to generate income.

The book is not saying that being an employee is bad or that everyone must become a business owner. The point is to understand how your income works and how you can gradually move toward more scalable sources of wealth.

Another important part of the book is the explanation of three types of income – regular income, investment income, and passive income.

Regular income can come from salary or business profits. Investment income can come from investments like mutual funds, FD’s and bonds. Passive income can come from sources like rentals, royalties or digital products.
The important lesson is not that every person needs to have every type of income. The lesson is to understand that one income source need not to be your only income source forever.

What I learned from this book

One of the biggest lessons I learned from this book is that income alone does not equal wealth.
You can have a good salary and still not become financially free. If all the money you earn is consumed by your expenses then you are still dependent on your next pay check.

The book encourages you to think about converting your regular income into investment and passive income.
So, the coal is not just “how can I earn more?”
The goal is – “how can I use what I earn to build assets that can help me earn in the future?”

Another big lesson is the importance of multiple income streams.
The book uses an analogy of a river with multiple tributaries. If one stream stops flowing, the other stream can help keep the river flowing. In the same way, relying completely on one income source and create financial vulnerability.
This does not mean that you need five side hustles tomorrow. Rather, it means starting to build the capacity for more than one income source overtime.

We all have 24 hours in a day. The book points out that successful people do not necessarily have more time than everyone else. The difference is how they use the time they have.
This made me think about time not just as something to spend, but as something to invest.
If you invest time in learning a new skill, building a product, creating a business system or understanding investing, the benefit can compound overtime.
One of the most powerful ideas in the book is “you are sitting on a goldmine don’t burry it.”

Page 6 talks about how people may have brilliant ideas, talents and potential, but never take the step to use them. The idea is simple – your talent can become valuable only when you take action on it.
That is a lesson I really like about this book.
Sometimes, we wait for the perfect time, perfect plan or perfect confidence, but while we are waiting, the idea stays and Idea.
Start small. Start today.

The book also introduces the 90/10 rule, which encourages you to identify the small part of your actions that creates a large part of your results. That can help you focus on what matters most instead of just being busy.

Who should read this book

Let money chase you is a good read for students, young professionals, salaried employees, first generation investors, and anyone who wants to understand the basics of wealth creation.

– It is especially helpful for people who are just starting their financial journey and do not know where to begin.
– Students can start thinking about skills, time and income before they start earning.
– Salaried professionals can learn why relying only on a salary maybe risky and why building assets matters.
– First generation investors can get a simple framework for understanding income, investing and wealth.
– People who are already highly experienced in investing, entrepreneurship or portfolio management may find some of the concepts more like a refresher than a new advanced strategy.

Conclusion

Let money chase you is less about getting rich quickly and more about changing the way you think about money, time and wealth.

The book reminds us that a high income can give you a comfortable life, but building assets can give you more financial options in the future.

It teaches you to stop asking only, “how much do I earn?” and start asking, “how much wealth am I building from what I earn?”

The most important takeaway for me is this:
Don’t work only for income. Build assets. Build skills. Build systems. Build multiple income streams. And don’t late your best ideas and talents get buried with you.
Because, the ultimate goal is not just to make money. The goal is to reach a point where money starts chasing you.
